Dry type transformer operation management skills
Dry type transformer operation management skills
1.Monitor the running status
Temperature monitoring
The temperature of dry type transformers is a key factor affecting their operating stability and life. The transformer thermostat display should be checked regularly to see if it is normal. And the fan start, over-temperature alarm, and over-temperature trip should be actually transmitted to ensure correct operation.
The outer surface temperature should generally be maintained between 40°C and 60°C, and the internal temperature should be controlled between 75°C and 85°C. If an abnormal increase in temperature is found, measures should be taken immediately, such as adding cooling equipment or reducing the load.
Current and voltage monitoring
Use the monitoring system to monitor the current, voltage and other operating parameters of the transformer in real time. Once an abnormal situation is found, such as the current or voltage exceeds the rated range, timely measures should be taken to deal with it.
Insulation status monitoring
Regularly check the insulation status of the transformer, including the humidity of the insulation material, whether the surface of the insulator is dirty, etc. According to the inspection results, take corresponding cleaning and maintenance measures to ensure good insulation performance.
2. Maintenance
Clean the heat dissipation channel
Keep the heat dissipation channel around the transformer clean to ensure smooth air circulation. Accumulated dust and debris will affect the heat dissipation effect of the transformer, causing temperature rise and increasing the risk of overload.
Check the fan start-up
Perform transmission inspections on the fan start-up regularly to ensure that the fan can start and run at any time. When the transformer is operating normally, a certain amount of ventilation is required to meet the rated capacity requirements.
Check the coil and terminal
Check whether the epoxy resin cast on the outside of the coil is cracked, and whether the terminal contact is good and there is no overheating.
Clean external insulation
At least once a year, take advantage of power outages to clean the external insulation of the transformer to keep its surface clean and reduce leakage.
3. Load management
Reasonable load distribution
Reasonably arrange the load distribution according to the rated capacity and actual load of the transformer. Avoid overloading a transformer and causing overload operation. Regularly perform load balancing adjustments to ensure that the loads of each transformer are balanced.
Limit overload
The transformer is allowed to operate under overload within 10% of the rated capacity, but attention should be paid to the temperature rise. If the overload is large, the oil temperature will rise and the hot spot temperature of the winding may reach a harmful level, which must be limited.
Prohibit long-term overload
If the transformer is overloaded for a long time, the oil temperature has exceeded the allowable value and the hot spot temperature of the winding has reached a dangerous level. At this time, overload operation must be prohibited to prevent equipment damage.
In addition, it is also necessary to prevent electric shock, short-circuit protection, maintain good grounding, etc. By taking these measures, the safe and stable operation of the dry type transformer can be ensured and its service life can be extended.
