Do you know crepe paper?
What is crepe paper?
Crepe paper is a special insulation material. It is mainly used in power equipment, such as transformers, high voltage cables. It is made of electrical insulation paper after wrinkling processing and has horizontal wrinkles. The wrinkles will be pulled apart when stretched. The thickness of the crepe paper is generally 0.05mm~0.12mm, and the elongation range is 5%~200%.
Characteristics of crepe paper
Insulation properties: Crepe paper has good insulation properties. It is suitable for packaging, filling and protection of electronic products and other fields. The insulation strength mainly depends on the thickness and density. The greater the thickness and the higher the density, the better the insulation strength. Under high electric field, crepe paper will produce uneven electric field distribution, which may lead to poor uniformity of electric field distribution. So it is necessary to pay attention to the particularity of its electric field distribution when used under high voltage.
Mechanical properties: Crepe paper has good mechanical strength and toughness. It can meet certain load-bearing and protection needs. For example, in transformer leads, the insulating cardboard is easily cut and retains a certain strength in oil immersion, which effectively protects transformer leads from being squeezed and disconnecting .
Chemical and physical stability: Crepe paper has the inherent dielectric strength, thermal stability, mechanical toughness, chemical compatibility, insensitivity to moisture, radiation resistance and non-toxic fire resistance. These characteristics make the crepe paper maintain good performance in a variety of environments.
Specific application of crepe paper
Transformers: Crepe paper is one of the commonly used insulation materials in transformers. It is mainly used for wrapping coils, filling gaps between layers and insulating partitions, etc., which can effectively improve the insulation performance and operation reliability of equipment.
Power cable: The crepe paper in power cables is mainly used to fill and protect the cable core. It can prevent the cable core from being damaged during transportation and installation, and improve the insulation and moisture resistance of the cable.
Motors and generators: In motors and generators, crepe paper are mainly used for winding insulation and insulation between the stator and rotor. It can effectively prevent current leakage and discharge and ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
Electronic components: In the manufacturing process of electronic components, crepe paper are often used to pack, fill and protect electronic components. It can prevent electronic components from being damaged during transportation and storage. At the same time, it can improve the insulation performance and reliability of electronic components.
Production technology
The production process of crepe paper mainly includes the following steps:
Raw material screening: Select unbleached sulfate wood pulp and cotton pulp as raw materials and perform beating treatment. The beating degree is controlled at 38 ~ 42°SR.
Pulp preparation: The raw materials after beating are bleached and processed to make pulp.
Papermaking process: The pulp is added to the pulping machine and processed into paper through multiple processes.
Crepe processing: The produced paper is wrinkled to form a crepe paper.
Crepe paper plays an important role in electrical and electronic fields because of its unique structure and excellent performance. In the future, with the continuous progress of technology and the continuous expansion of applications, crepe paper will develop in the direction of higher performance, more environmentally friendly and more diversified.
