The difference between 3240 epoxy board and bakelite board

3240 epoxy board, also known as 3240 epoxy phenolic fiberglass cloth laminate, is yellow and black in color. This product is made of electrical alkali-free glass fiber cloth impregnated with epoxy phenolic resin and baked and hot pressed. 3240 epoxy board products have high mechanical and dielectric properties, good heat resistance and moisture resistance, and good machinability. The heat resistance grade is B, which is suitable for insulating structural parts in motors and electrical equipment, and can be used in humid environments and transformer oil.

Bakelite board, also known as bakelite board, full name epoxy phenolic laminated paperboard. The color is orange and black. Bakelite board uses high-quality bleached wood building paper and cotton linter paper as reinforcement, and is made of phenolic resin made by reaction of high-purity, fully synthetic petrochemical raw materials as resin adhesive.

Difference between 3240 epoxy board and bakelite:

 

3240 epoxy board refers to epoxy resin board reinforced with glass fiber. The strength of epoxy resin board is much higher than bakelite. Bakelite is a phenolic plastic board. Bakelite has low toughness, poor elasticity, brittleness and hardness, and cannot be used as a bow arm.

 

1. The price difference is not big. Epoxy board is 23 to 43 yuan/Kg, while bakelite is about 19 to 57 yuan/kg.

 

2. The shrinkage rate is related to the composition and processing method of the resin.

Epoxy resin board is synthesized by high pressure of epoxy resin and glass cloth, bakelite board is made of phenolic aldehyde, some powder and cotton cloth pressed together, so 3240 epoxy board has better point performance than bakelite board, and bakelite board has higher physical processing performance than epoxy board.
