The structure and components of a box-type transformer

Box-type transformer is a kind of power equipment integrating traditional transformers and related equipment. It is a completely sealed toughened box structure with transformers, high-voltage voltage control equipment, low-voltage voltage control equipment and so on. A box-type transformer is a closed transformer and usually composed of an iron core, winding and housing. Its shell is made of insulating material or metal material and contains input windings and output windings. It realizes voltage transformation through electromagnetic induction law. Box-type transformers are usually equipped with cooling equipment such as radiators or fans to ensure stable operation in a variety of environments‌.

1. Transformer body

The transformer body is the core part of the box-type transformer. It is mainly composed of iron core, winding, oil tank, insulation structure, etc. It is responsible for converting high-voltage electric energy into low-voltage electric energy for users. The quality of the insulation structure directly affects the safety and service life of the transformer.

2. High and low voltage switchgear

These devices are used to control the switching of transformers and protect circuits. Common switchgear include circuit breakers, load switches, disconnectors, etc. These switchgear can realize remote control and automatic protection functions and have protection functions such as overload, short circuit, and grounding.

3. Protection devices and monitoring systems

Protection devices include current transformers, voltage transformers, relays, etc., which are used to monitor the electrical parameters and operating status of transformers in real time. The monitoring system collects these data to analyze and warn the operating status of the transformer in real time, so as to timely discover and deal with potential problems.

4. Shell

The shell is the protective structure of the box-type transformer, which is mainly made of metal materials. And the shell has good anti-corrosion, waterproof and dustproof properties. The shell is equipped with a heat insulation layer and a ventilation and heat dissipation system to ensure that the transformer can operate normally in harsh environments. At the same time, the shell is also equipped with an operating door and an observation window to facilitate users to inspect and observe the transformer.
