What is a rectifier transformer?

Rectifier transformer is specially used to convert the input AC electrical signal into the output DC electrical signal‌. It is a power transformer for rectifier equipment and plays a vital role in industry. The rectifier transformer not only supplies the proper voltage to the rectifier system, but also reduces the pollution to the power grid caused by waveform distortion caused by the rectifier system. ‌

Rectifier transformers are usually used in electrolysis industry, smelting, high-frequency welding, electroplating, electrical processing, electrostatic dust removal and other fields. Its output voltage is usually AC. It is mainly used to provide power to the rectifier equipment and suppress high order harmonics through a specific connection mode to protect the equipment from damage.

What are the main differences between rectifier transformers and ordinary transformers?

1. Working frequency: The rectifier transformer generally works in the higher middle and high frequency range, while the ordinary transformer is required to work in the low frequency range of about 50Hz.

2. Ratio: The ratio of the rectifier transformer is higher than that of the ordinary transformer. A variety of complex power conversion and transformation can be achieved through the conversion of electrical energy.

3. Different working principle: The working principle of the ordinary transformer is to use the principle of electromagnetic induction to convert the current at the input end to the output end through the action of the magnetic field, so the input end and the output end are isolated. The rectifier transformer is the input AC voltage through the transformer into a low voltage and high current DC voltage output, so there is a connection between the input and output.

4. Use: Rectifier transformer is mainly used in power conversion and electronic equipment. It can achieve a variety of efficient power conversion and conversion. It has good volume, weight, efficiency, waveform and noise characteristics. The ordinary transformer is widely used in industrial, civil and communication fields. Its function is mainly to convert high voltage into low voltage or low voltage into high voltage.

5. Structural characteristics: The structural characteristics of the rectifier transformer are mainly the original input AC, and the auxiliary output DC through the rectifier element. The structural characteristics of ordinary transformers are mainly static electrical appliances made of electromagnetic induction principle. And its core components are primary coils, secondary coils and iron cores (magnetic cores).

6. Different use scenarios: Ordinary transformers are mainly used for voltage conversion and isolation, which can reduce high voltage to a suitable voltage for use. And it can also raise low voltage to the required voltage. The rectifier transformer is mainly used in the rectifier circuit to convert the AC voltage to the DC voltage. Therefore, ordinary transformers have a wide range of applications, while rectifier transformers are limited to specific circuits.

These are the main differences between rectifier transformers and ordinary transformers. In practical applications, we need to choose the right type of transformer according to different needs to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
