Where are the advantages of the performance and application of PP sheet?
Basic performance of PP sheet:
PP sheet has good transparency, good barrier, low density, non-toxic and sanitary, and can be recycled. During heating or combustion, PP sheet will not produce toxic and harmful gases, corrode equipment. PP sheet can be made into a variety of products through thermal molding and other secondary processing, mainly used for food, medicine, medical equipment and other packaging.
The application of PP sheet material in building
PP sheet is used in many buildings. The thickness of PP sheet is only 1/3 of ordinary brick, but also can meet the strength requirements, save 75% of raw materials, reduce energy consumption of more than 84%, and belongs to new environmental protection building decoration materials. PP sheet can withstand the corrosion of most chemicals, and can withstand the corrosion of high concentration acid and alkali within the pH range of 1-14 in a large range. And it has good stress cracking resistance, and very high bending fatigue life. PP has good fluidity at melting temperature and good molding performance. Since the viscosity of PP sheet decreases significantly with the increase of shear velocity, increasing the injection pressure and velocity will improve its fluidity, shrinkage deformation and sag.
PP sheet raw material is polypropylene, it uses Sinopec raw materials generally. Good PP sheets have a lot of differences with those on the market in raw materials. The general raw materials PP semi-cured sheet do not do any treatment before production of plate like FR4 sheet, pure raw material production is adopted. There are a lot of bad businesses, doping a lot of things in the raw materials in order to reduce the cost, get a large profit, no matter whether it is good or not.
PP sheet can resist hygroscopic performance
In addition to maintaining the original excellent properties, the strength, rigidity, etc. of PP sheet are doubled, and it has good heat resistance, low temperature impact, anti-corrosion, arc resistance, and low shrinkage rate. PP sheet is especially suitable for chemical fiber, chlor-alkali, petroleum, dyes, pesticides, food, medicine, light industry, metallurgy, sewage disposal and other fields. A semi-crystalline material glass fiber reinforced PP sheet (FRPP sheet), reinforced by 20% glass fiber, is stronger than PE and has a higher melting point. Because the homopolymer type PP temperature is very brittle when the temperature is above 0℃ , many commercial PP materials are random copolymers with 1~4% ethylene or clamped copolymers with a higher ratio of ethylene content. The copolymer type PP material has a lower thermal distortion temperature (100℃), low transparency, low gloss, low rigidity, but has a stronger impact strength. The strength of PP sheet increases with the increase of ethylene content. The softening temperature of PP VEKA is 150℃. Due to the high crystallinity, the external stiffness and scratch resistance of this material are very good.
There is no environmental stress cracking problem in PP sheet. Usually, PP is modified by adding glass fiber, metal additive or thermoplastic rubber. The MFR of PP flow rate is in the range of 1 to 40. The low MFRPP material have better impact resistance but lower tensile strength. For the same MFR material, the strength of the copolymer is higher than that of the homopolymer. Due to crystallization, PP shrinkage rate is quite high, generally 1.8~2.5%, and the direction uniformity of shrinkage rate is much better than PE-HD and other material. Adding 30% glass additive can reduce the shrinkage rate to 0.7%. Both homopolymer type and copolymer type PP sheet have excellent resistance to hygroscopicity, acid and alkali corrosion and solubility. However, there is no resistance to aromatic hydrocarbon (such as benzene) solvents, chlorinated hydrocarbon (carbon tetrachloride) solvents, etc. PP sheet also does not have the same antioxidant properties at high temperatures as PE.
