FR5 (Flame Retardant Level 5) is a common glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin insulation material mainly used in circuit board manufacturing in the electronic and electrical industry.
FR5 is the same material as G11 glass epoxy except for its flame retardant properties. FR5 is a perfect thermoset for applications requiring excellent dimensional stability and mechanical strength, as well as the ability to withstand high temperatures while preventing the spread of fire or flames.
Composition: FR5 insulation is made of epoxy resin and glass fiber cloth cross-layered. The addition of glass fiber gives the material better strength and heat resistance.
