The August 1st Army Day is the anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It is scheduled to be established on August 1 of each year by the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Committee to commemorate the establishment of the Red Army of Chinese Workers and Peasants.
The first "August 1st" Army Day celebration was held in the south of Ruijin City. The leaders of the Central Military Commission gave the Red Army School a school banner, awarded the Red Army teams a battle flag, and awarded the Red Star Medal to the outstanding Red Army commander. The Central Government and representatives of various parties and groups gave a speech, and the disaggregation began. On July 11, 1933, the Provisional Central Government of the Chinese Soviet Republic decided to set up a memorial day for the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army on August 1st day according to the recommendations of the Central Revolutionary Military Committee on June 30. On June 15, 1949, the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Committee issued an order to use the word "August 1" as the main symbol of the Chinese People's Liberation Army's military flag and military emblem. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, this anniversary was renamed the Chinese People's Liberation Army Day.
