What is cable paper?

Cable paper, also known as insulation paper. It is a special paper material made of cellulose fiber and is used for the insulation layer and outer protective layer of wire and cable. Cable paper has unique insulation properties. It can withstand high temperature, high voltage and mechanical stress, so as to protect the normal operation of the cable line and extend the service life of the cable.

Characteristics of cable paper

1. Insulation performance: Cable paper has a high resistivity. It can effectively prevent the leakage of current, so as to ensure the safe operation of the cable. Its high dielectric constant and low power factor make the cable paper have excellent insulation properties in the electric field.

2. Moisture resistance: As the insulation layer of cable, cable paper  needs to have good moisture resistance. This feature is particularly important for cable applications in humid environments.

3. Heat resistance: The paper material used in cable paper has been specially treated and has good heat resistance. It can maintain stable electrical performance within a certain temperature range. And it will not lose insulation performance due to temperature increase. This feature makes it possible to use cable paper in high temperature environments.

4. Mechanical strength: The cable paper is tough and uniform. It has high tensile, folding and tearing strength. These characteristics make the cable paper withstand certain mechanical stress during the cable manufacturing process and ensure the structural stability and service life of the cable.

Application of cable paper

1. Transformer

Cable paper is also widely used in the manufacture of transformers. In transformers, cable paper is used as insulation board, which is used to make insulating structures and protection materials of transformers. These insulation boards have good bending resistance, heat resistance and electrical properties, which can ensure the safe and stable operation of the transformer.

2. Power cables

Cable paper is an important part of power cables. It is wrapped in the outermost layer of the cable to protect the cable from moisture and prevent the cable's own insulation layer from damage. In high-voltage power cables, the use of cable paper is particularly important, which can effectively prevent the leakage of current and ensure the stability and safety of power transmission.

3. Control cables and signal cables
