Advantages of dry type transformer:
The advantages of dry type transformer include low loss, good power saving effect, flame retardant, explosion proof, no pollution, maintenance-free, small local discharge, high mechanical strength, good reliability, short circuit resistance, lightning impact resistance, a variety of shell materials, can be equipped with temperature control and display system.
These advantages make dry type transformer widely used in modern commercial centers, residential areas, high-rise buildings, underground, public places and other places with high fire protection requirements. The dry type transformer has the advantages of simple structure, light weight, low noise, excellent insulation performance and lightning impact resistance, and good mechanical strength and resistance to temperature change and short circuit resistance. In addition, dry-type transformers also have moisture resistance characteristics, can operate in high humidity environments, and economical installation, can be installed in the load center, no special foundation .
Disadvantages of dry transformer:
Dry-type transformer also has some disadvantages , mainly including high price, generally can only be installed in the indoor, poor moisture and dust resistance, loud noise, and relatively poor tolerance in harsh environments. In addition, the volume of the dry transformer is large, if the coil is damaged, the whole equipment needs to be replaced, and the maintenance cost is high .
To sum up, dry transformers perform well in many application scenarios because of their unique advantages, especially in places with high fire protection requirements, but their high cost and some shortcomings also need to be considered comprehensively when choosing.
